WriteAngles is pleased to announce the expansion of its new online publication, WriteAngles Journal. After publishing 18 strong and varied pieces of flash memoir this fall, the editorial board has decided to open submissions Jan. 1 through Jan. 31, 2017, for a special issue devoted to the theme of “resolution.”
In literary terms, resolution is the part of the story’s plot line in which the problem of the story is resolved or worked out and is typically where the story ends. However, in real life, a resolution is often the start of something new. In the story of our lives, resolutions grow out of the messy stuff of what it means to be human.
We are seeking submissions of flash memoir and flash fiction of up to 500 words. These vignettes can take the form of prose, poetry (up to 35 lines), or playscript. They can be excerpts from longer works or standalone essays, poems, or scenes.
Please title your submission and attach as a Word document accompanied by a 50-word bio and JPG headshot author’s photo. E-mail submissions (one per submitter) as well as any questions you might have.
We look forward to showcasing your work in WriteAngles Journal.
Sincerely,
Joan Axelrod-Contrada
